Yoga instructor in Conshohocken, Pa. Hosts weekly event to benefit charity

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. (WPVI) – Alison babula is a Power Flow Certified Occupational Therapist and Yoga Instructor in Conshohocken, Pa. with a mission to help members of her community

“I can’t say enough good things about yoga. I think once I started practicing I didn’t stop. It’s a saying in the community: we do yoga every day. days, ”she said.

Babula felt particularly motivated by the events surrounding the pandemic to do something, and that something ended up being “We Care Wednesday,” a yoga event held on Instagram Live where attendees are encouraged to donate any amount they can. ‘they can for a charity chosen by Babula that week.

“I have a weekly goal. I know that every Wednesday I’m going to be focusing on something different, something bigger than me and my own smaller pandemic issues,” she said.

Since June, she has donated over $ 3,000 to charities primarily benefiting the African-American community in our region, such as the Loveland Foundation and Black mom’s affair, and she hopes to see it grow, and maintain it for a long time.

“It takes you out of the bigger picture of being connected to your community and just thinking that I can stop for 45 minutes,” she said.
